My story

I have close to twenty years' experience working with purpose-driven entrepreneurs and innovators across the African continent, helping them access capital, scale their ventures and create an impact on socio-economic and environmental issues. My work now sits on building a new capital structure for social and environmental ventures on the continent.

I co-founded Impact Amplifier in 2011, where I am a Partner. We find, accelerate and finance solutions to Africa's social and environmental challenges, and run the Africa Online Safety Fund with Google.org.

In parallel, I embarked on a long personal development journey, and became deeply interested in the psychology of purpose and capital allocation in Africa.

Working with, and solving for, business and system level solutions to human suffering has been the long term theme of my work. By influencing capital allocation decisions for entrepreneurs across the African continent, which reduce suffering, increase prosperity and transform systems is the key driver of my work.

• Completed the Foundry Fellowship in 2024 with the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship
• Co-founded Impact Amplifier, a leading social innovation accelerator on the continent
• Co-founded Africa's first social enterprise incubator after returning to South Africa in 2006
• Established and chaired the South African chapter of ANDE, part of the Aspen Institute in Washington DC
